The jockey continued that turning out of the back straight he moved wide to begin to improve his position - which he continued to do so under tender handling before making a bad mistake at the third last. the jockeys main priority then was to get the gelding to jump the last two safely - after which he asked the gelding for effort whereupon he did not improve his placing anymore with regards to those horses around him. the trainer confirmed the instructions and added that he was satisfied with the ride given.
