Held up in rear - headway over 1f out - ridden and stayed on inside final furlong - not pace to challenge (an enquiry was held into the running and riding of the colt. the rider and the trainer's rep were interviewed and shown recordings of the race - the rider said his instructions were to ride the colt to stay the trip and to hold on to the colt's head as he is not a good mover - he added that he was intent on following the instructions - which resulted in him being slightly detached from the horses in front of him as the pace increased down the hill - he further added that he made up the ground quickly and - in his opinion - the colt failed to stay the trip - the trainer's rep stated they were happy with the ride and that it accorded with the instructions given.)(op 7/1 tchd 8/1)
