Chased leaders - ridden and lost fourth before 3 out - soon well held(op 8/1)

Midfield - nudged along and lost touch after 4 out - kept on from 3 out - never near to challenge (jockey said - regarding running and riding that his instructions were to get the gelding settled and to jump in a rhythm. He added that the gelding had raced keenly in his previous race - and on this occasion had rushed some of his hurdles. Johns further explained that it was instrumental to get the gelding settled to finish off the race well and in his opinion had achieved the best possible placing. The trainer confirmed the instructions and stated that he was satisfied that the ride accorded with those instructions)(op 200/1 tchd 300/1)
