Raced freely - prominent in chasing group early - close up 3rd - joined leader from 4th - led before 5th - clear before 7th - reduced lead after 2 out - headed when nudged along run-in - ridden briefly and kept on well towards finish (jockey said - regarding running and riding - that his instructions were to get cover and get gelding settled as he can be a difficult ride; he said field went a very sedate pace and with only 5 runners race was not going according to plan and he had no choice but to take up the running; gelding settled in front but after passing stands' with circuit to go he got lit up and took off down the hill; he added that gelding was emptying from 2nd last and had no more to give after last and never picked up from there; trainer confirmed instructions; he stated that gelding was scoped post-race and was found to have bled)(op 11/1 tchd 10/1)
