Taken steadily to post - took fierce hold - held up in last until pulled way through to lead before 6th - headed next and weakened rapidly - pulled up before 2 out (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to get the gelding to drop out and try to get the gelding switch off and run a good race. He added that the gelding was running very freely throughout the race - which he reported to scales on his return. He continued that once the rest of the field joined him going up the hill - he felt that the gelding was very tired and having squeezed him along with his legs - felt that the gelding had no more to give at which point he felt it prudent to pull up)(op 33/1)
