Midfield - pushed along and went fourth but still plenty to do over 2f out - hung left from over 1f out - pushed along and kept on inside final furlong (jockey was questioned regarding his riding of the colt inside the final furlong. Jockey explained that he had to make quite a lot of use of the colt through the early and middle stages in order to maintain a prominent position. Jockey added that in his opinion the colt was not appreciating the kick back on this occasion and after being angled to the outside of the winner's heels early in the home straight to make his challenge - the colt had then lugged left-handed from approaching the final furlong when tiring and bearing in mind the colts inexperience - he felt it prudent to hold the colt together to keep him balanced under a hands and heels ride inside the final furlong)(op 80/1 tchd 100/1)
